Eagles 53 Man Roster Prediction

After the Jets game tomorrow the team will be forced to cut the roster down to the final 53.

Right now the roster currently sits at 75 after the 15 moves made earlier this week.

Here is my prediction of the final 53. Be sure to let me know what you think!

  1. Sam Bradford
  2. Mark Sanchez
  3. Matt Barkley
  • The 3rd stringer could go either way because honestly 3rd string QBs don’t really matter that much, well unless you’re Arizona of course.  But Tebow or Barkley, take your pick. I just think Barkley will push Tebow out the door after his performance in tomorrow night’s game. Don’t be surprised to see Chip only carry two QBs and save that 53rd roster spot for special teams either. With all that said, I’ll go Barkley still.

  1. DeMarco Murray
  2. Ryan Mathews
  3. Darren Sproles
  4. Kenjon Barner
  • Yes the Eagles will carry 4 RBs. Barner will help on Punt Returns and Special teams and that will give Sproles more touches on offense, preferably the passing game.

  1. Jordan Matthews
  2. Riley Cooper
  3. Nelson Agholor
  4. Josh Huff
  5. Miles Austin
  6. Seyi Ajirotutu
  • Austin makes the team as a veteran presence and a solid route runner. As a 5th WR Miles Austin is very valuable. Ajirotutu will make the team based on his special teams play alone, but if local product Rasheed Bailey proves he can contribute on ST, he should have a shot at the 6th WR spot. Bailey can be a decent possession WR in the NFL, the question is can he contribute on Special Teams. Bailey has the Jets game to make a case for his spot, otherwise he will be signed to the practice squad. If Bailey is signed to the practice squad, the Eagles better hope they can keep him there.

  1. Zach Ertz
  2. Brent Celek
  3. Trey Burton
  • I know a lot of people like Tomlinson and want the Eagles to carry 4 TEs, but I don’t see them carrying 4 TEs and 4 RBs, so Barner gets the edge over Tomlinson. Tomlinson will be added to the practice squad.

  1. Jason Peters
  2. Allen Barbre
  3. Jason Kelce
  4. Andrew Gardner
  5. Lane Johnson
  6. Dennis Kelly
  7. Julian Vandervelde
  8. Matt Tobin
  9. David Molk
  • The Eagles might not keep David Molk because Vandervelde can play all interior line positions, but teams are always looking for O-line depth so i think Molk stays and the Eagles carry 4 extra Lineman.

  1. Fletcher Cox
  2. Bennie Logan
  3. Cedric Thornton
  4. Beau Allen
  5. Vinny Curry- DE/OLB
  6. Bradon Bair
  7. Taylor Hart
  • Don’t really have to explain much here. Taylor Hart sticks around this year, he’s really showed improvement in all aspects of his game.

  1. Connor Barwin- OLB
  2. Kiko Alonso- ILB
  3. Mychal Kendricks- ILB
  4. DeMeco Ryans- ILB
  5. Brandon Graham- OLB
  6. Marcus Smith- OLB
  7. Bryan Braman- OLB
  8. Brad Jones-ILB/OLB
  9. Jordan Hicks- ILB
  • ILB is the strength of this group. The Eagles are as deep as it gets at the ILB position. The OLB starters are solid, but the depth is weak, especially with Marcus Smith on the shelf to start the season. Vinny Curry working in at the OLB position should help some, however, the team would love for another guy to step up and help on the outside. ILB Brad Jones has been working on the outside as well as the inside so maybe that’s where they get their help. Although ILB Najee Goode had a decent camp and preseason, the depth at inside backer is too strong for him to make the team.

  1. Byron Maxwell-CB
  2. Malcolm Jenkins-S
  3. Nolan Carroll-CB
  4. Walter Thurmond-S
  5. Eric Rowe-CB/S
  6. Jaylen Watkins-CB/S
  7. Chris Maragos-S
  8. Chris Prosinski-S
  9. E.J. BIggers-CB
  • Take your pick with Prosinski or Reynolds, but Prosinski has the experience on special teams. Reynolds was here last year when the Eagles signed Prosinski to play ST for them. Reynolds has definitely taken a step up this year, yet I still see Prosinski making the team over him solely because of Special teams. Some might say why Biggers over Reynolds or Evans? Well, the Eagles need more depth at corner so that’s where Reynolds gets ruled out. As far as Evans, he could serve an important role for the team in the future, but for this year his role will be to help the scout team offense as a part of the practice squad.

  1. Cody Parkey- K
  2. Donnie Jones- P
  3. Jon Dorenbos- LS
  • Did you expect Kip Smith?

Obviously my opinions could change during or after the game tomorrow, but as for now, these are my roster predictions. Thanks for stopping by.
