I literally don’t even know what I’m about to write, but it’s 1:44am and I’m not the least bit tired so, fuck it. I haven’t wrote anything in a while. Lately, DeliverPhilly4 has been carried by the podcast, which I’m fine with. Our podcast, The DP4 Podcast, is doing very well. We thank every single person who supports and listens from the bottom of our hearts. We are doing this the way we want too, and that’s the best part about recording a podcast. There’s no major company to tell me what to do like the radio stations who are owned by CBS, Fox, ESPN, Greater Media, etc. We do whatever the fuck we want. For those who have been around since the beginning when I first launched DP4 back in 2013 with a Michael Vick blog-post, you know the site has always been that way too. It’s water cooler sports talk without the PC bullshit. We can say whatever we want and do whatever we want on this site just like we do on the podcast.
I decided to launch this site because my communications teacher at Bucks County Community College recommended starting a blog to the whole classroom. I don’t know how many people in the class decided to start one, but I’m sure glad I did. A communication teacher from Bucks Community is literally the only reason I decided to launch this blog. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and do you want to know the most fucked up part? I forget the poor guy’s name! I feel like such a dick. I mean, I highly doubt I’ll ever see him again, and I can probably pull out an old notebook or textbook and find his name, but I feel way too lazy to do that right now and I’m sure I’ll forget to do it tomorrow. All I know is his name started with a ‘T,’ and I remember that I skipped out on his project presentation at the end of the year to go to a concert. I sent him the project and lied about my car being rear-ended on the way to class. The concert was dope and I still got an A.
I learned a lot in that class as I watched the Flyers on a live stream from the kid who sat in front of me’s laptop. I never graduated college, I didn’t even graduate from Bucks Community. Lauren got pregnant with Logan, our first child, so I took a semester off and never went back. I don’t mind that I never went back, I’ll never regret it because Logan was born and my life has been on an incline ever since.
When I started writing this I had no clue what I was going to write about. I just started writing and this is what came to me. A lot of great writers write some of their best pieces this way. They gain ideas then go back to their work the next day or a week later and pull ideas from their work. I guess when I think about what I just wrote here, my main point will be to get started on whatever your passion is. You won’t succeed right away but that’s okay, you’re not supposed to. The hardest part is getting started. With that said, I think I’ll go find the email of my old communications teacher to thank him for helping me get started. DeliverPhilly4 and the DP4 Podcast would have never launched if I didn’t take his class. I may have started something at some point, but then again, the idea may have never came to fruition. Teachers really are the tits!
