On Saturday, the Flyers will play the LA Kings at 7:00 in Philadelphia. Since there was basketball being setup at Wells Fargo Center for the afternoon, the Flyers had their game-day morning skate in Voorhees.
The lines for tonight are the same as they were against Montreal on Thursday night. Brain Elliot will be in net tonight as well, Alex Lyon will be backup. There is no confirmed starter for LA, but I would assume Johnathan Quick would be in net. Justin Braun is back in the lineup tonight, and will play alongside Robert Hägg. Mark Friedman is the other defenseman in the lineup, and will be a healthy scratch. The defense pairings should run, Provorov-Niskanen, Myers-Sanheim, Braun-Hägg.
After the morning skate, most of the team headed back into the locker room. However a few stayed on the ice, notably Bunnaman, Konecny, Farabee, Myers, Sanheim, and Aube-Kubel. It’s good to these guys continuing to practice AFTER practice. Some of these guys are lower in the lineup, and that looks good to Alain Vigneault and the coaching staff.
Nolan Patrick was skating on the ice after the Flyers team skate this morning, working with skills Coach Angelo Ricci. Chuck Fletcher stated that “We still think he has future ahead of him”, 21 year old kids like that with that type of skill set, they don’t fall off trees.” per Jordan Hall, @JHallNBCS on Twitter.
Tonight is 80’s night as Wells Fargo Center, so expect a lot of old jerseys if you are going the game. Zezel, Sinisalo, Craven, Tocchet, Brown, and so many other great players in the 80’s for the Flyers. Going into tonight’s game, LA is in 8th place in the Pacific Division, and are 18-26-5 on the season with 41 points, and are 7-16-4 on the road. The Flyers look to have a better 1st period against LA, as the last time they gave up 4 goals in the 1st period on New Year’s Eve.
